AIM

The activities carried out by the Association in the first trimester 2023 mainly focused on the organization of the national congress. The 23rd National Congress of the Italian Association of Myology will take place from 8 to 10 June 2023 in the splendid setting of Padua. The provisional scientific program is very attractive and intensive, with lectures, workshops, special sessions and company symposia. Ample time will be to oral communications by young researchers and to poster sessions. Once again this year the best oral or poster contributions presented by researchers under the age of 35 will be awarded.

Proposals to organize and host the 14th Meeting of the Mediterranean Society of Myology (MSM) in 2023 are welcome.

WMS

The 28th International Annual Congress of the World Muscle Society will take place on 3-7 October 2023 in Charleston, South Carolina, USA. The congress venue is the Charleston Convention Center at 5001 Coliseum Drive, that it is part of the Coliseum, Further information on the final program will be available on the Society and Congress websites and on Acta Myologica website. News from around the world 37 Performing Arts Center, and Convention Center campus and is the Lowcountry’s premier destination for entertainment and education. Presentations and e-posters via platform and app will be available for delegates who wish to participate virtually. The 5-day meeting will be an opportunity to catch up on the latest developments in neuromuscular diseases from around the world. Following the longstanding tradition of the WMS, the meeting will be preceded by a teaching course, on 2-3 October 2023. Contributions about new advances across the neuromuscular field are very welcome. The main thematic topics of this congress focused on translational medicine are: Topic 1: Understanding phenotypic and genetic diversity in neuromuscular disorders; Topic 2: Pathobiology of neuromuscular repeat expansion diseases; Topic 3: The effect of lifestyle, exercise and nutrition on neuromuscular pathology and outcomes.
