Evento Congiunto AIM ed ASNP,
Bologna 13-16 maggio 2026
The organization of a joint congress between the Associazione Italiana di Miologia (AIM) and the Associazione per lo Studio del Sistema Nervoso Periferico (ASNP) arises from the increasingly urgent need to address neuromuscular disorders in an integrated manner, in light of therapeutic and diagnostic advances that require a translational and multidisciplinary vision.
In 2026, the decision was made to organize this joint congress with the aim of building a scientific bridge between two communities that share research areas, advanced technologies, and clinical challenges. The meeting is intended to represent a crucial opportunity to unite expertise, share scientific evidence, and define new strategies in the field of neuromuscular diseases.
Today, an interdisciplinary approach represents the only effective way to address the biological and clinical complexity of these conditions, promote cutting-edge research, and improve patient care.
The 2026 Bologna Congress aims to establish a scientific connection between the fields of muscle and peripheral nervous system research, bringing together basic and clinical expertise in neuromuscular regeneration, genetic and inflammatory diseases, immune-mediated complications, advanced imaging, artificial intelligence, and novel therapies. Through plenary and parallel sessions, the program will foster dialogue among research groups and specialists from different backgrounds, encouraging the critical sharing of data, updates on ongoing clinical trials, and the development of biomarkers and quantitative tools for diagnosis, stratification, and disease monitoring.
The ultimate goal of the congress is to stimulate long-term scientific collaborations between the two communities, promote multicenter studies and joint projects, and contribute to shaping future research directions in neuromuscular diseases, with a truly integrated perspective between muscle and peripheral nerve.
